During Extended Day today, we did a cooking/science activity using Jell-O....
First, we dumped the Jello-powder into the pan and discussed if the Jell-O was ready to eat. We then talked about what we needed to do to turn this "powder" into Jell-O.
Next, we added water to the powder and then....
we stirred and...
stirred and...
stirred. We discussed that right now the Jell-O is a liquid but after being in the refrigerator for awhile, the Jell-O will turn into a solid. We also the term used when a powdery substance disappears when water is added....it dissolves.
The best part came next, when children worked in small groups to make Jell-O. On Friday, we will enjoy eating our Jell-O as part of our snack. YUM!
