Wednesday... Swimming!

We had a super-fun day in the pool today!
We first swam laps, practiced jumping in from the side,
swam forwards and backwards and blew bubbles in the water!
We then finished off our time with some free-choice time!

It was a 'splash' of a good time!!!!

Monday... Art

Mr. C showed us how to draw a '3' on a folded piece of paper and then when
we open it up, it is a butterfly!

We also got to paint butterflies!
... and mold butterflies out of clay!

 KidPix was also an option.

DIRT DESSERT!

Our "cooking activity" today involved making "Dirt Dessert"!  We thought this was an appropriate activity given all the rain we've been getting!  Children mixed up their own pudding (mud); crushed up Oreo cookies and graham crackers (dirt); and added some gummy worms (worms)!  We also read the stories Wonderful Worms and Peanut Butter and Worms.

Planting!

While the Elephant Group went to Computer Class,
the Cheetah Group planted flowers for spring!

Thumbs up for gardening!

Discovery Day...

MOLD!
What?  Who wants to talk about mold?
Well, WE do!!!
We watched videos on how mold grows on food and how it starts to eat
away at our food!
The video was pretty yucky but fun at the same time!

So, we are growing our own mold on bread and
we are experimenting to see if we can get mold to grow on
cheese, yogurt, and apple slices!

We will keep you updated on our MOLD progress!

WE GOT TO SWIM!

We were pleasantly surprised this morning when Mr. Yakscoe came to tell us the pool was ready for swimming!  So, we didn't miss our swimming class today.  Your children are definitely ready for summer swimming.  We continue to work on swimming widths of the pool both in the shallow and the deep end.  We also work on developing confidence in jumping in the pool.  We have quite a few Pre-K fish among us!!
